Happy Postday

*english version below

"It's a project that allows anyone to receive postcards (real ones, not electronic) from random places in the world." sesederhana itu.

Niatannya saya sih begitu.

Monggo, jika berminat silakan mengisi form-nya yah!

I always love correspondence. i rarely do it, but i always the concept of love pen pal, post crossing and philately.

some of you probably consider this is cliche and demanding. we need paper, envelope, postal stamp, handwriting and spare little of you limited and valuable time to go to post office. which of course a lot more expensive than to send short message or email from your smartphone.

if so, there's nothing wrong with it. but, there's a lot of people who worship the old school snail mail idea. ever heard Post Crossing? "It's a project that allows anyone to receive postcards (real ones, not electronic) from random places in the world."

right now i am having a personal project, a little giveaway thingy for those who celebrate your birthday. whenever it is. all you have to do is fill this form with your birth date and postal address. starting this month (March 2014) until a year, 2 years or as long as i could, i will send a 'lil somethin-somethin for 3 lucky names.

that 'lil somethin-somethin is obviously not a fancy thing. it will be humble simple stuff i made, as simple as my know-how on creating handwritten / hand drawn objects. i hope it can put a teenie-weenie rainbow on your birthday.

so why Postday? it is a pun from post and birthday. for postal and your post-birthday. since it will be sent by stamp, we can almost assure it arrive far off your party and will extend the festivity.

so go a head! feel free.

October yayness

as i was saying on my previous post, that in a country i've been living in, art really isn't really a living. since people give more appreciation to 'value' the most, i think life would be so challenging for creative people. :D

like this one! she is one adorable mom of a twin, great singer and guitar player, and she sews!
screw the kitchen, but what more could you ask for a woman?!!

Since she's so famous, most of you probably already knew her brand, Inaku. She's familiar with pretty and distinct batik and textile pattern.  Last month i happen to be so lucky to do a collaborative project on her signature Reversible Totebags.

photos are taken by Inaku'

you could find her great works on her blog and fanpage.

as if it's not good enough, she generously does some giveaway her lovely DIY book and bags for free! watudu? watudu? find the details, here
follow the simple steps, pick a prize  and cross your finger. :D

of course i want the book! :D

can i really do that?

since i am pretty much feed up with overwhelming office hours, it makes me seriously think about doing freelance. it actually pays good money, but looking at the time i spent there (approximation 10 hours/day) i think i can earn more. not only money, time.

there are a lot of great service company like shopa & co or kartunama.net that i dream one day i own myself. i was thinking of sending them my works sample, and see if they are interested.

so the question is now,
  1. can i sell my work?
  2. other that namecard, could we make more print-base features? like greeting cards, envelope, letterheads or even wall-decal?
  3. regarding to urgency, is it possible to make 'same-day' service?
honestly saying, this post is also for the competition held by kartunama.net to win freebies. neat!
