Proud the present : PRIDE!

well well, i  must say, this year has been so nice to me. Not financially, but more about something intangible.

It's only April, yet it's going to be my 5th exhibition this year and also the 2nd  time i'm being with the LOS guys.

This particular exhibition cost ssooooo much energy and time.different from the previous exhibition i've been through, this one has pages of to-do list. Not that i didn't enjoy it. i do. believe me, i do. 

especially, this is the first time we're having the exhibition on a great gallery (and not to mention a very cool and contemporary hotel). And also we'll be having such great company! 

Great artists like Rich Fisher, Michael Cufua, Singpentinkhappy, Dika Toolkit, Luvck and lots of illustration celebrity on instagram are submitting their amazing artworks for the sake of the exhibition.

Now, last but not least is.... we're inviting you!!! Yes!
We're opening a submission from all of you art and illustration enthusiast to send your artwork to us. We'll print it and have it on our exhibition. How fun is that?!!

for those of you who don't understand the details (since it is written in bahasa), the rules are pretty simple. Make an artwork related to your "PRIDE" or anything you would brag about, scan / snap a photo in A4 size with great quality resolution and send them with your art title, concept, contact details and also website/twitter/facebook/instagram links. After being curated, your artwork will be exhibited amongst other great arts from great artists all over the world.  And that's it!

remembering our late beloved friend, my college friends and alumni are organizing a Tribute to Sapta Poetri. Her sister (i met her and she's a clone of her big sis), actually came up with it since we're reminiscing Sapta's upcoming birthday on 22 october 2011.

As long as i can remember, she's a lovely, goofy and kind person. if it wasn't because of that motorcycle accident, she would probably be among us. anyways, she would probably laugh about it somewhere up there. Sapta, you're an inspiration for everyone afterlife. you be good there, ya .

what i did on saturday : drawing workshop

Do you doodle? do you want to? or u just want to
come and have a drawing crash course together.

If u think this will be a serious workshop, don't worry. we will be just gathering, and messing with markers together in a class (prox. 20 seats)

If u have anything to be doodled like Tshirt, totebags, purse, socks, mugs, tumbler anything just bring 'em out ! there will be little itsy bitsy gifts for the lucky ones. So it'll be fun!

PLUS, a mini booth with load of handmade product that u could buy or on-the-spot custom order. :3

last week i felt like Christmas came early! one beautiful package from my hearth-throb illustration, miss Gemma Correll. Just take a peek on her website and aww yourself. Actually I've ordered for one single item, but she send me a lot of these instead!

one more pretty things sent to me, a fabulous tumbler from Kopi Keliling. Kopi Keliling is one hip collaborative art project event in jakarta. they ellaborate the best illustrator and pile them up in 3 sick days, last 18-21 september. lots of people came and at one spot, there were one spot where everybody get to doodle live, and the best get these fantastico tumbler! you could actually order their lovely merchandise here.

It's a shame I couldn't attend this fab event, but eventually i got this!!! Flawless illustration by Diela Maharanie (i love her!). now i can sip my coffee stylishly!

cool people like her

i thank god for so many inspiring cool and talented people all over the world. i know it's selfish, but i feel motivated. once i saw their blog of article or whatever-ness, they made me wanna grab my pencil and paper. and start to swag on it.

so, in ode to these cool people, i made illustrations of them. this is probably my way of how much i appreciate them. she is one of them. diana rikasari.

she's probably the sickest fashion-blogger 'slash' young-enterpreneur 'slash-again' full time dreamcatcher in this country! the last one really represents her, coz when she had a dream, she put in in her blog. and when it is put, she is deadly serious to seize it. so yeah! she rocks!

speaking of inspiration, there will be an inspiring weekend for women. it's 9 to 9 Ladies Festival Surabaya at town's most lovely Majapahit Hotel. There will be so many classes, workshops, runways and of course, shopping scene! i will be leading drawing workshop on one of the classes. this is my first, so it will be awkward and fun for you to see :3
